It's important to note that weight restrictions apply to skips. Exceeding the maximum weight limit can result in additional charges or transportation issues. Please contact us if you are unsure about what size to choose.

It’s important to not overfill your skip. The actual height of the skip serves as the perfect guide, so once waste begins to reach the top you should consider getting the skip emptied. Overfilled skips are dangerous as they become too heavy to safely lift.

It all depends on the size you choose, where you are located and how long you want to keep the skip for. Please fill in our online enquiry form or call us on 01563543315.

It’s entirely up to you – contact us to discuss your requirements. Skips can be kept for up to seven days but this duration can be increased by arrangement. It’s worth noting we provide same-day skip delivery.

Ideally it needs to be on private land – land that you control or that you have permission to use. This could be a driveway, private car park, courtyard or similar.

Placing a skip on public land is very different, and is subject to regulations and guidelines to ensure public safety, proper waste management, and compliance with local authority requirements. The Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 states that skips placed on any public road require a skip permit – we can help you with this and will pass on the costs which vary from council to council - please contact us for details.

You can be fined by the council if you place an unlicensed skip on a public road, cause damage to any public property or if you don’t follow any of the restrictions of your permit.

The skips are delivered using specialist equipment so you shouldn’t attempt to move them yourself. This could lead to damage or personal injury.

If the delivery or collection is straightforward, you don’t necessarily need to be in but if there are queries – including over where to place the skip - please make sure you are present.

The skip must only be filled to a level load and there should be nothing protruding. If you go over the fill line, the skip will not be collected.

All waste is taken to Corrie Skips’ licensed recycling facility in Kilmarnock. Material is then sorted - all recyclable material is sent for further treatment and waste is sent to another facility to generate energy.
